Guan Miao Elementary School

Guan Miao Elementary School is located in Guan Miao District, Tainan City.

It was established 126 years ago. It has been dedicated to children's education in Guan Miao area for many years.

Guanmiao Elementary School was originally established as "Guandi Temple Public School" in the 13th year of the Meiji era (1899 AD). In the 5th year of the Meiji era, the school site was located at No. 2207, Wujiad section (now on the border of Guiren and Guanmiao Townships). In 1921, the school was renamed "Guanmiao Public School" and a new school building was constructed at the current location. By 1931, the new school building was completely finished. In 1941, the school was renamed "Guanmiao National School."

In 1945, following the victory in the Second Sino-Japanese War and Taiwan's restoration, the government prioritized education for cultivating talent and strengthening the nation's foundation. Wu Wande was appointed as the new principal. In 1968, with the implementation of nine-year compulsory education, the school was restructured as "Guanmiao Elementary School."

Over the course of more than 120 years, the school has a long history and a simple, honest school spirit.
